File2Mail Privacy Policy
File2Mail (“the App”) helps you select files or folders on your device and send them as email attachments through an email account and SMTP server chosen and configured by you.
1. Information the App processes
- Files and folders: When you select files or folders, the App uses them to prepare and send the email attachments you request.
- Email information: The recipient address, sender address, subject, message, and attachment details that you enter are used to prepare and send your email.
- SMTP settings: If you configure an SMTP server, the server address, port, username, and related settings are used to connect to that server and send your email. These settings may be stored locally on your device so that you can use the App again.
- Usage and advertising information: The App uses Google Mobile Ads and related Google services. Depending on your settings, consent choices, and applicable law, these services may process device identifiers such as an advertising ID, ad interaction information, diagnostics, and similar technical information to provide, measure, and improve advertising.
- Basic technical information: The App may use network status and limited technical information needed to connect to the email server, complete background work, and operate reliably.
2. How information is used
Information is used to provide the App’s core features, including selecting attachments, connecting to your chosen SMTP server, sending email, saving your preferences locally, displaying advertising, responding to support requests, and maintaining App security and reliability.
3. Where information is sent
When you send an email, the selected attachments and email contents are transmitted to the SMTP server and recipients you choose. Your email provider may process this information under its own privacy policy. File2Mail does not control the privacy practices of your email provider, SMTP provider, email recipients, or advertising providers.
4. Permissions
File2Mail may use the following capabilities:
- Internet: to connect to your SMTP server and support advertising services.
- Network status: to determine whether a network connection is available.
- Advertising ID and Android advertising services: to support advertising measurement and personalization where permitted.
- Wake lock and foreground/background service support: to help an email send or other requested work continue reliably.
The App does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, SMS messages, phone calls, or call history.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as needed to provide the feature you request—for example, with the SMTP/email provider you configure, the recipients you select, Google Mobile Ads and related service providers, or when required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, or protection of rights and safety.
6. Storage and security
File2Mail is designed to use selected files and settings on your device and to transmit email through the server you configure. Please use a trusted SMTP provider and a secure connection. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and you are responsible for protecting your device, email account, and SMTP credentials.
7. Data retention and deletion
File2Mail does not promise a fixed retention period for information handled by your SMTP or email provider. You can remove saved App data by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App. Emails and attachments already sent may remain in your email account, the recipient’s account, or provider backups according to their policies.
8. Children’s privacy
File2Mail is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
9. Third-party services
The App may use Google Mobile Ads and Google Play services. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies. You can read more here:
10. Your choices
You choose whether to select files, enter recipients, configure an SMTP server, and send an email. You can manage Android advertising settings and consent choices where available, and you can disable or limit personalized advertising through your device or Google settings.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, services, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted at this location with a new effective date.
